The B&F Story
Two decades. One standard. Every project.
B&F Contracting was founded in 2004 by Larry Lumaj, a master finish carpenter whose twenty-year trade career established the standard the company still holds today. The name B&F — Building and Finishing — was chosen deliberately: it describes both the scope of work and the philosophy behind it.
What started as a small interior renovation shop became something larger as clients — first hotels, then hospitals, then federal agencies — discovered that B&F could execute interior renovation inside fully occupied buildings without disrupting the people inside.
In 2014, Frederick Lumaj stepped into a full leadership role alongside his brother, bringing construction management credentials and hands-on site expertise to the field operation they built together.
The Lumaj family's roots in construction go deeper. Their father worked in the trades before them, and cousins are part of the crew today. B&F is a genuinely family-oriented business across two generations, where family members work side by side on every job.
