Leadership
The Principals Are Present.
Always.
Brother-led ownership. On-site. On the schedule. On the phone.
Larry Lumaj
Founder & CEO — Master Craftsman.
Larry Lumaj spent fifteen years as a master finish carpenter before founding B&F Contracting in 2004. Every joint, every miter, every installation was executed to a standard that most contractors simply couldn't match.
He founded B&F on a simple premise: the difference between a contractor who is present and one who isn't is the difference between a project that succeeds and one that merely concludes.
As CEO, Larry sets the standard every project is measured against. He personally reviews schedules and conducts owner walkthroughs at handover.
"This business exists because we refused to do work we weren't proud of. We still refuse."
Frederick Lumaj
President & Construction Operations Leader.
Frederick Lumaj holds construction management credentials and brings hands-on site expertise to every project. From day one, his focus: controlling every square foot of the job site so projects finish on time, within budget, with zero disruption.
Frederick runs construction operations from the ground up. He personally manages project schedules, coordinates trade sequencing, and controls site logistics — phased work plans, daily access, material staging, crew deployment. His command of every active B&F site separates B&F from competitors managing from a desk.
His on-site presence is not symbolic. Frederick is on the floor — walking projects, resolving field conditions in real time, holding subcontractors to the same standards that define every B&F contract.
He holds his Michigan Builder's License, OSHA-30, and Healthcare Construction certifications. Frederick is SAM.gov-credentialed and personally oversees all federal compliance.
"Control the site — the schedule, the crews, the access, the sequencing. Everything else follows."
Operating Values
Four values. Applied in the field, every day.
01
Precision
Trade-level discipline in every finish and every schedule.
02
Family
A family business. The Lumaj family's roots in construction go deeper — their father worked in the trades before them, and cousins are part of the crew today. Family members work side by side on every job. Crews and clients stay with us.
03
Accountability
The principals answer the phone. Same day. Every day.
04
Presence
Ownership on-site is the operating model.
